Musculoskeletal conditions are a common reason for presentation across multiple care settings, ranging from the outpatient environment to the emergency department and hospital settings. Ultrasound is a resource that can enhance the clinician’s diagnostic ability at the point of care for multiple indications. In this chapter, we discuss the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound for the diagnosis of soft tissue injury and inflammation, tendon injury and inflammation, joint pathology, muscle pathology, masses, and cystic structures. We also discuss guidance for aspirations and injections.
