Solutions to the all-encompassing sustainability phenomenon facing the world are known to be multifaceted. Notably among them are Circular Economy (CE) and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), for achieving Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs). Also, integration of these two approaches offers a more comprehensive understanding that could help in making informed decisions towards a sustainable future. This suggests that there are connections between CE and LCA in relation to SDGs, However, the areas of their connections were not explicitly captured in the extant literature. Therefore, this study aims at identifying and elucidating more on the connections between the duos of CE and LCA vis-à-vis SDGs. The study employed a systematic literature review methodology to explore the research goal. As part of the findings from this study, a conceptual framework was developed, to show the flow of links among CE, LCA and SDGs as a basis for discussion on their connections and in-depth understanding of the phenomenon. Also, 10Rs strategies of CE that align with SDGs were identified. Besides, seven goals out of the seventeen goals in SDGs, were identified to connect with the goal of CE. More connections between CE and SDGs were also noted in the three key areas: implementation and application; alignment of SDGs targets with CE vision; and connection of indicators. Additionally, CE-LCA linkage was recognised as a comprehensive and robust tool for the advancement and assessment of resource efficiency of a product or process. This study has implications for various stakeholders, particularly in the sphere of sustainable development, to be more aware of connecting areas and factors of linkage between CE and LCA in relation to SDGs. The study then recommends that future studies on CE, LCA and SDGs, either as a standalone construct or in a combined form, leverage on this baseline information to promote sustainable development in all ecosystems.

摘要
