During one of my research stays in Hamburg, Germany, I went to a small Greek restaurant to eat a chicken gyro. The bartender, a Greek man, was excited when he learned that I am from Hungary, as it is somewhere halfway between Greece and Germany, and during communist times, Hungary hosted many Greeks who were fleeing Greece.
