Sam Bankman-Fried: “There are a lot of ways to do good in the world”
摘要
Sam Bankman-Fried’s mysteriousness stemmed from his perceived authenticity and his belief in effective altruism. Even though documentaries questioned if SBF’s belief has driven him to commit frauds, they devoted little time to investigate what this philosophy is. The media explained SBF’s mysteriousness with two reasons: that he knowingly committed his crimes and disguised them with his unkempt appearance and fringe beliefs; and that he and other believers lived in a make-believe world. Effective altruism is critiqued to be a problem-solving philosophy without explaining what caused these problems in the first place.
