The chapter argues that young Creole artists utilize bricolage through the incorporation of multilingual lyrics, incorporating Portuguese, English, and Wolof, and the borrowing of rhythms and sounds from a multitude of genres and cultures. In this manner, they expand their audience and enhance their popularity among urban youth, particularly in Dakar. The audience responds to this bricolage with great enthusiasm, and Senegalese artists have gained a significant presence on the global music stage.
