Climate change poses daunting development and existential challenges to the world at large. The impacts of climate change are far-reaching. For this reason, concerted global efforts are required to tackle the menace of climate change by seriously tackling greenhouse gas emissions. This chapter seeks to contribute to the needed global efforts by critically investigating the extent to which climate change resilience can be enhanced by policy making that seriously promotes green or renewable energy sources as the new default energy options, i.e. green energy default policy approach (GEDPA); thereby replacing fossil fuels as the current default energy options. By using largely secondary data and some expert opinions, this chapter argues that GEDPA can greatly facilitate public and private investments in science and technology to create many green energy options and manufacture affordable green energy-based appliances or gadgets. And to instill climate change sensitive public behaviour through readily available, accessible and affordable green energy options.
