Offshore Processing of Natural Gas
摘要
Natural gas is one of the most widely used clean energy sources in today’s society, playing a crucial role in meeting global energy demands while minimizing environmental impact. Depending on its origin, natural gas can be classified into conventional and unconventional gases, and the methods of production vary accordingly. Naturally occurring natural gas often contains a range of impurities, including water vapor, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, and particulates, which can significantly impact its use. These impurities can adversely affect the efficiency of combustion, lead to equipment corrosion, and diminish the overall quality of the gas. As such, it is essential to separate these impurities from natural gas. One of the most promising technologies for achieving this is the supersonic separator. This chapter provides a brief overview of natural gas and the development history of supersonic separators.
