The Phenomenon of ‘Islamism’: Radicalisation, Deradicalisation and Disengagement
摘要
This chapter explores ‘Islamist’ extremism as an anti-democratic and occasionally violent movement, focusing on its ideological features and links to radicalisation. It explores a range of deradicalisation strategies, with particular attention to systemic counselling as a viable intervention. Emphasizing the importance of understanding individual motives, the chapter aims to enhance approaches to addressing radicalisation effectively. Overall, it seeks to clarify the core characteristics and underlying dynamics of Islamist extremism within comprehensive intervention frameworks.
