From the perspective opened up by Foucault's analysis, we propose to problematize the current escalation of the discourse of hate, both by tracing its historical genealogy as a dispositive, and by addressing the question of the relation of truth to which its production of subjectivity is subject. A cross-examination between his texts of 1970 and his study of the “historical war discourse” and those of 1980 on the question of desire establishes to combine a critical study of some of the most challenging issues of our political present in Latin America and across the world.
