Hyposalivation induced by Graft versus Host Disease is a complication of inflammatory damage to salivary gland tissue caused by an immune response following Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT). The management of this reaction involves long-term targeted systemic immunosuppressive therapy along with treatments to increase salivary flow, decrease oral dryness, and reduce risk of dental sequalae due to hyposalivation. Options for management of dry mouth include administration of sialagogues, saliva substitutes, and photobiomodulation.
