Hyposalivation can be a significant complication of ionizing radiation on salivary glands and is often related to xerostomia complaint (subjective oral dryness). Pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies are recommended for the management of this complication. Photobiomodulation has been shown to be effective in the increase of salivary flow in patients undergoing head and neck radiotherapy.
