Our first step towards developing an approach to just technology is to translate the Just War principles into principles directed at Just Technology. The first Just War condition, or question (the damage inflicted by the aggressor on the nation or community of nations must be lasting, grave, and certain), requires a thorough analysis of the nature of the problem under consideration. For technology to be just we must look very carefully at the nature of the problem being addressed. This first of four conditions/questions helps us develop a better understanding of the problem. The approach developed in this section will then be used for the remaining three just war conditions.
