CP affects pediatric patients in early stages of motor abilities development. Within the Discover2Walk Project, a SMA-based exosuit has been developed for aiding 3-year-old toddlers with Cerebral Palsy to get started in the gait cycle. This device assists the child in both knee and ankle flexo-extension in the sagittal plane. The amount of electricity received by the SMA wires is controlled through a bilinear PID and results in the actuator contraction. The control loop is closed by the knee and ankle’s angular position. Proves are driven over a 3-year-old Dummy built from anatomical measurements and suggest that SMA actuators are suitable for this type of applications. However, some improvements should be made in order to enhance the device performance.

摘要
