Peace: What Are We Talking About?
摘要
‘Quod est pax’:—for the title of the composition premiered at the Donaueschingen Festival in 2007, the Swiss composer Klaus Huber chose the question of what peace actually is Essentially, the entire life’s work of the late composer (1924–2017) was an attempt to find answers to this explicit question. And he was doing so not as a social scientist or peace researcher, of course, but as an artist with different means—aesthetic means—of approaching an answer. But this is precisely the simple yet fundamental question that academics from all disciplines also attempt to answer, not least those who have devoted themselves expressly to peace research, and indeed peace education, as their mission in life.
