The Effect of Board Composition on Firm Profitability: A Comprehensive Review

This study explores the impact of board involvement on the financial performance of Indian pharmaceutical companies. The study utilized data from 82 pharmaceutical firms spanning from 2008 to 2017. The research examines data using the method of least square regression. Corporate profitability can be evaluated through accounting and marketing metrics. Factors that can be controlled include leverage, firm size, and age. The financial success of a company is greatly influenced by its board of directors, as evidenced by Tobin Q and return on assets. A company’s profitability can be significantly enhanced by its age and scale. Extensive research has been conducted on the relationship between corporate governance and financial performance. This study aims to fill a research gap by examining the impact of board membership on the financial performance of pharmaceutical businesses in India.
