Transformation Through Trust: Examining Managerial Performance in the Higher Education Environment

This article explores the evolving dynamics of management and managerial effectiveness in higher education institutions governed by the Ministry of Education, focusing on how trust influences both individual and collective performance. Using qualitative methods, the researchers conducted in-depth interviews with management and academic staff at a Higher College. Through thematic analysis and coding, they examined the connection between trust and managerial performance. The findings underscore the critical role of trust in enhancing managerial effectiveness. When individuals feel supported and recognized by their peers and superiors, their performance levels tend to improve. Factors like transparent communication, teamwork, and opportunities for personal growth are pivotal in building trust. The study reveals that trust between lecturers and managers significantly affects teaching quality and overall institutional operations. Ultimately, it concludes that fostering trust within the organization empowers managers to innovate and enhance performance management in higher education.
