The Impact of Financial Technology on the Sustainability of Development in the Middle East Countries

The aim of this study is to examine the impact of financial technology on sustainable development based on the certain dimensions (environmental dimension, social dimension and economic dimension) in the banking sectors in the Middle East countries. To achieve the objective of this study, the descriptive analytical method is used, and the community included from all countries in the Middle East. This study included (180) banks operating in Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, Qatar, and Syria. Questionnaires were distributed electronically to the main departments of the banks, working individuals, department managers, unit heads, as well as employees working in the technological and programming departments, financial departments, and information technology management. The results showed the high relative importance of financial technology in banks in the Middle East, and the high importance the percentage of sustainable development in banks in the Middle East, and the presence of a statistically significant impact of financial technology on sustainable development in its dimensions (environmental development, social development and economic development) in the banking sector in the Middle East. Finally, this study recommended the necessity of promoting social development, as social development is essential for the stability and progress of societies. It contributes significantly to improving the quality of life and standard of living of individuals.
