Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) policies are the frameworks for the attainment of sustainable development. This is because there is no aspect of the Sustainable Development Goals that is not driven by the 4IR. The synergy between Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) policies and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is gaining increasing attention, as nations seek to leverage technological advancements for sustainable development. However, little understanding exists as to the extent to which Nigeria’s policies on 4IR align with the quest for the SDGs. This study critically examines the nexus between 4IR policies and the SDGs, especially SDGs 1, 2, 8, and 9, in Nigeria. Relying on qualitative method, data are elicited through semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions with policymakers, academics, and industry. This is aided by desktop and document reviews. Elicited data are analysed thematically with a view to ascertaining recurring patterns, themes, and categories within the collected data. Findings, therefore, reveal that whilst considerable Nigeria’s 4IR policies exist, the current 4IR policies in Nigeria have been inadequate in comprehensively propelling the drive for the attainment of SDGs in Nigeria ahead of 2030. This study, therefore, suggests the initiation, formulation, and implementation of 4IR policies that are geared towards achieving the SDGs.
