The intermediate stage of the thermal interaction between two homothermal regions in a particle-laden turbulent flow is analyzed using data from direct numerical simulations (DNSs). The fluid and particle relevant thermal budget equations are provided and a self-similar analysis has been carried out. We show how particle thermal inertia introduces a lag in the dynamics which allows for self-similarity only in the asymptotic limit.

摘要

The intermediate stage of the thermal interaction between two homothermal regions in a particle-laden turbulent flow is analyzed using data from direct numerical simulations (DNSs). The fluid and particle relevant thermal budget equations are provided and a self-similar analysis has been carried out. We show how particle thermal inertia introduces a lag in the dynamics which allows for self-similarity only in the asymptotic limit.
