In this chapter we consider Fourier-based reconstruction as is found in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). We see how gradient fields are used to encode the signals with spatial information and how a Fourier Transform can then be used to recover a 2D or 3D image. We explore some of the surprising consequences of this for image resolution and field of view.
