In this chapter we consider how we can use medical imaging to ‘go beyond contrast’ and simply the creation of images for visual inspection, and instead how we can use medical imaging devices to make measurements. We explore how we can use medical imaging to measure physiological, functional and metabolic processes, not just physical, properties of the body.
