The COVID-19 pandemic significantly changed media consumption patterns, increasing public focus on health-related news. This study examines the relationship between heightened media consumption and improved perceptions of media credibility, trust in media, and the ability to identify fake news regarding the coronavirus in Bahrain. Using a descriptive methodology and cross-sectional survey approach, data was collected from residents aged 18 and older who utilize various media platforms. Findings indicate a positive correlation between the pandemic and engagement with news across radio, television, newspapers, and social media. The study concludes that COVID-19 impacted both the quantity and quality of media consumed, prompting greater interest in disease-related information. Further research is suggested to explore the long-term effects of the pandemic on media consumption behaviors.
