Often, while designing urban designs and landscapes, the focus is primarily on the aesthetics of the space. Design of urban landscape in different spaces can directly impact the user’s well-being and spatial experience. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the user experience and take an approach to design spaces from a human centric approach to enable urban landscapes that provide complete spatial experiences that directs user movement, behaviour, interactions and experiences positively. This research intends to explore various literatures to form an in-gain insight on the impact of landscape on user well-being in different areas of life namely physical, cognitive and psychological factors. The research method followed is by analyzing literature review. A thematic synthesis of literature is conducted by organizing the literature into key themes. By exploring themes such as Philosophy of Landscape, Philosophy of Embodiment, Philosophy of Senses and Aesthetics in Ecology, Movement Patterns, Behaviours, Health, Sustainability etc. and by identifying the Impact of Urban Landscpaes on users in different context, the research aims to develop a framework that includes a set of indicators to promote sustainable landscape from a human centric approach.
