CAD Tools, Creativity Tools and AI Tools: An Emerging Triade in the Design Process
摘要
This research considers a reflective observation towards range of inexperienced conceptual, technical and methodological flows impacting both creative processes and design process and their conventional interconnection with CAD tools. Such a complex paradigm is triggered by the emerging technologies interfering in the design process modelling at its different stages and prompted by the emerging tendencies to use AI-powered tools and AI-driven applications by designers to reach further possibilities, fleetness, efficiency and extensions in their projects. The core research question explores the extent to which the potential of AI as recently embodied tool to the connections between CAD and creativity, generating a new three-dimensional model perceived as an emerging triade in the design process. In this research, both user-study and in-situ quantitative methods were deployed in real-life situations to uncover the parameters, aspects and facets of a such triade to investigate associated parameters, impacts and potentialities simultaneously revealed as challenges and prospects to be examined. The outcome of this research reveals three potential systemic models leading to identify a viable conceptual framework.
