The Impact of Board of Directors Characteristics on Financial Performance in the Kingdom of Bahrain
摘要
This study aims to investigate the impact of board of directors’ characteristics—namely board independence, the percentage of women on the board, and board size—on financial performance in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The study collected the date from the annual reports of 43 listed organizations in Bahrain in 2023. The study result revealed that, there was a weak positive relationship between board of directors’ characteristics and the financial performance. For future research, it is recommended to explore additional variables that may impact firm performance, such as management practices, market conditions, and corporate governance frameworks, which could provide a more comprehensive understanding of the determinants of financial success.
