Spray characteristic of the fuel shows an essential function in the performance of the internal combustion engines and emissions. This fuel is a promising alternative fuel for diesel engines to reduce greenhouse gases and smoke emissions. The use of alternative fuels can affect spray characteristics. The parameters of the spray are influenced by the fuel injection pressure, the physical properties of the fuel particularly density and viscosity ambient air pressure, and ambient air temperature. The injection pressure, ambient air pressure, and ambient air temperature are the most critical elements that significantly influence spray characteristics. The present paper represents a concise assessment of the published information about the spray properties of biodiesel fuel. The current literature covers both experimental and numerical research that has been published.
