This paper provides an introduction to Industry 5.0 as the fifth wave of the industrial revolution. The paper provides insight into some key characteristics such as collaboration, sustainability and personalization that define this era of industrial revolution. Further this paper also explores both advantages and disadvantages related with Industry 5.0, such as costs, skills gaps, security/privacy concerns and ethical dilemmas. For the moment, its advantages include flexibility, sustainability, creativity, and innovation. Industry 5.0 impacts many different industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture, logistics and construction. Finally, it offers businesses in these fields an opportunity to use robotic capabilities in order to create a more productive society that prioritizes sustainability. The paper finally offers future directions of industry 5.0.
