Email remains a critical communication tool for individuals and businesses. However, the fact that it is a useful means of communication indicates that it is also a prime target for malicious parties who use spam emails for fraud. This paper discusses AI Applications for Email Spam Detection, including the ever-growing problem of spam emails and the need for successful detection systems. Despite the existing tools that handle these threats, this paper introduces a novel method using OpenAI's generative AI. The proposed tool uses ChatGPT, Zapier, and Gmail to measure the probability of an email message being spam. The product is currently just a proof of concept, though it is also highly accurate in spam detection and has the potential for more mainstream use.
