This chapter begins with an explanation of the working principle of centrifugal casting, then the advantages and the limitations of centrifugal casting are highlighted. Centrifugal casting processes are discussed, taking into consideration true centrifugal casting (both horizontal and vertical axes), semi-centrifugal casting, and centrifuging. Physics of casting spoked wheels is also mentioned. Mathematical modeling of centrifugal casting includes expressions for centrifugal force, G-factor, and the mold rotational speed. The design of a two-pulley-belt drive system, for power transmission from the motor to the centrifugal casting machine has also been analyzed. This chapter contains 14 worked numerical examples, 7 diagrams, 12 formulas/equations, and 10 MCQ with their answers given at the end of this book.
