Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction (ACLR) is a common surgical procedure with a high success rate. However, the failure rate is also significantly high at 10%. With the increase in the number of primary ACL reconstructions, subsequent need for revision-ACLR (R-ACLR) is also increasing. The main reasons for revision surgery include technical errors such as malpositioned tunnels, omission of concomitant meniscoligamentous injuries, sagittal and coronal plane deformities, new trauma, and inappropriate rehabilitation. A detailed evaluation before R-ACLR surgery is essential. Detailed preoperative planning is one of the most important factors that will increase the success of revision surgery.
