Cementitious Materials—Degradation, Detection
摘要
Generally, the properties of concrete improve with age, for example, compressive strength increases with age due to hydration. However, experience has shown that cementitious materials can also degrade through different mechanism such as chemical, bacterial and physical processes. In addition, as concrete is a composite material, any deterioration of the reinforcement and prestressing has an important effect on the cementitious material. A brief overview of these materials, their application, properties and degradation mechanisms is provided in this Chapter.
