Visual Programming in Immersive Virtual Reality Using UML Sequence Diagrams

Virtual reality (VR) is considered one of the most promising technologies for software development. This paper introduces a live VR programming environment that utilizes UML diagrams, evaluates it through a user study, and contrasts it with the traditional programming approach using a conventional development environment. The user study involved 13 participants and the evaluation was based on complex programming tasks and the System Usability Scale (SUS) and the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ). Although the proposed solution is user-friendly and more engaging compared to traditional development environments, it still lacks efficiency.
