The document addresses the challenge of developing an information system based on Geographic Information Technologies to support the planning and management of investment projects in disadvantaged areas, specifically in the Biobío Region in southern Chile. It is recognized that there is a relationship between accessibility to local public services and patterns of segregation. In this context, it is crucial to identify the most relevant characteristics of the territory to allocate public resources effectively, intending to promote the development of different social and economic groups. This study will facilitate better decision-making in resource allocation through a web application or dashboard built with geographic information. This system will allow for consultation and visualization for each disadvantaged area of various layers of information, such as demographic data, executed projects according to strategic variables, and their interaction with relevant geospatial data, layers of accessibility, and territorial human well-being. This will enhance regional governments’ ability to plan and make decisions more effectively when allocating resources to lagging territories.
