The objective of this chapter is to synthesize and highlight the main characteristics of preventive programs for sexually transmitted infections reported in research conducted in Latin America over the last ten years (2015–2024). Preventive interventions aimed at reducing STIs/HIV, their theoretical framework, design, objectives, number of sessions, and effectiveness were analyzed. A total of 20 articles on interventions met the inclusion criteria. In conclusion, interventions aimed at reducing STIs/HIV in Latin America have proven to be effective and diverse, highlighting the need for adaptive and culturally relevant approaches. However, the scarcity of evidence-based programs in sexual education in many countries in the region is concerning.
