Phenomenology and Future Directions
摘要
Quantum gravity phenomenology opens up new ways in which we can test our esoteric theories of spacetime. Though small, these effects can add up over the age of our universe leading to potentially measurable effects. An important prediction from CST is Sorkin’s accurate order of magnitude estimate of the fluctuation in the cosmological constantCosmological constant, with the prediction preceding the observation by a decade. Another class of predictions comes from the swervesSwerves model of particle propagation where the discreteness leads to a slow diffusion in momentum space with potentially observable consequences. CST phenomenology is a rich subject and this chapter serves as a sampler.
