Technological Roadmap for Sustainable Hydrogen Production from Lignocellulosic Biomass Gasification for Energy Applications: A Perspective
摘要
This mini-review proposes a technological roadmap for sustainable hydrogen production, focusing on the gasification of lignocellulosic biomass as the key technology for Colombia. Through a systematic literature review and a decision matrix, several gasification technologies, including fixed-bed gasification, fluidized-bed gasification, supercritical water gasification, and plasma gasification, were assessed. The findings of this study highlight fluidized-bed gasification as the optimal technology due to its superior energy efficiency, effective emission controls, and economic feasibility. This technology enables higher-quality gas production with lower tar content, aligning with environmental and operational efficiency criteria. The roadmap outlined strategic implementation phases for scaling this technology, providing a detailed guide for future applications in hydrogen production within Colombia’s energy landscape. The results advocated for significant investment in research and development to overcome existing barriers and the full harnessing of biomass potential as a key component in the renewable energy matrix.
