A Multichannel IoT Compliant Distributed High Voltage Control System Using Indigenous Ethernet Based Micro Controller Boards

A web-controlled, 48-channel programmable voltage source system has been designed and developed for high-voltage bias supply units. A stand-alone embedded HTTP server on each channel allows for independent control over a single Ethernet port that has a static IP address. Using a 0–10 V to 0–2000 V DC–DC converter integrated onto a single PCB, the system produces 0–2000 V DC outputs. When coupled with the HVP Hi Voltage Programmable plug-in modules from PICO Inc., this method provides a small and effective solution. Low bandwidth usage, simple scaling, worldwide accessibility, support for many users, and PC-based software control with read and ramp features are some of the main benefits. With a crate-less design, the system uses LAN stacking of 0–1/2/5/10 V, 4–20 mA DC programmable boards with 12-bit resolution. Qt C++ and LabVIEW were used to construct GUIs for Windows and Linux, respectively. The system’s built-in HTTP servers enable IoT integration. Proven reliable through 10 years of operation, the system’s local control and monitoring functionality is implemented using LabVIEW.
