Energy harvesting technologies have been explored by researchers for more than two decades as an alternative to conventional power sources for small-sized and low-power electronic devices. In this study, the effect of Nickel Ferrite (NiFe2O4) doping on ferroelectric properties of PVDF/KNN (Polyvinylidene Fluoride/Potassium Sodium Niobate) polymer sheets has been studied. The energy harvesting properties are investigated through ferroelectric P-E hysteresis loop. Pure PVDF and PVDF/KNN (70% PVDF, 30% KNN) composite films with varying nickel ferrite content (10%, 20%, and 30%) have been synthesized by a conventional solution casting method. The effective piezoelectric transverse coefficient e31 is evaluated using the displacement curve with the help of Mazzalai’s equation. PVDF/KNN shows high energy storage, highest Ps and low Ec values. This work endorsed the potential of the NFO/KNN/PVDF based flexible films for multifunctional lead-free energy harvesting applications.

摘要
