This chapter aims to discuss the migratory processes of children traveling across the continent from a public health perspective, highlighting dimensions associated with mental health and migratory trauma based on the analysis of one case study. The migration phenomenon experienced by boys and girls on the continent is contextualized, by describing the inequalities these groups face. The chapter also delves into the impact that the migratory conditions experienced by children have on their mental health and the effect they generate on comprehensive well-being and quality of life. A case study from the Chile–Peru–Bolivia border is briefly presented, followed by a reflection on possible participatory interventions to address migratory trauma and the mental health of migrant children. The chapter concludes with recommendations for health services and socio-school care teams.
