The coconut global size market is predicted to grow well from 2023 to 2030. The productions are consumed and traded not only for the local and regional but also globally. The plant becomes the primary or second income for many smallholders that live in tropical and subtropical countries. Now and for the future, the commodity faces challenges related to food safety, a clean environment, and climate change due to global consumers’ needs, while pests and disease management constrain on-farm production. The constraint affects the loss of coconut yield, product quality, farmers’ income, and the sustainability of agriculture. FAO/WHO have released guidelines regarding international regulation standards, such as quarantine, phytosanitary, pesticide regulation, and maximum pesticide residue limits for pesticides. The coconut management that relates to the challenges are Good Coconut Cultivation Practices (GCCP), Integrated Pest Management (IPM), and Organic Coconut (O.C.). How technological innovation grows and how the governments of coconut-producing countries develop regulations are essential discussions in this article, besides how the coconut smallholders in many countries can adopt and implement the practices and produce the best coconut product for global consumers.
