Plasma-Assisted Hydrogel Synthesis
摘要
Hydrogels continue to attract interest because of their potential use in different applications. They are considered as soft complex materials which consist mainly of physically and chemically crosslinked hydrophilic polymers. Hence, hydrogels are known to absorb and retain large amounts of water in their three-dimensional network. Various strategies are used to improve crosslinking in hydrogels. Among these strategies, plasma-assisted hydrogel synthesis is an emerging versatile technique to tailor hydrogel properties for targeted applications. This chapter discusses the use of plasma as an integral part in the processing of hydrogels for various technologically relevant applications.
