Analysis of the Rationality of Extending LOD Standards from the Design Phase to the Production and Construction Phases
摘要
This study aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the application of LOD standards in the AEC industry. The implication and applicability of Level of Development (LOD) standards are evaluated, and the reasons for mismatches between the use of a single LOD standard and actual requirements in the production and construction phases are explored. By approaching the analysis from the perspectives of various departments within a contractor organization, the study will identify reasons why the LOD standard has not been universally accepted and adopted in the industry. Additionally, the study proposes the application of maturity assessment theories in systems engineering to assist contractors in the utilization and management of BIM models. This approach aims to optimize the application of BIM in the production and construction phases, address shortcomings in the practical implementation of LOD standards, and provide the construction industry with a more consistent and efficient BIM implementation strategy.
