The Dialogic Application
摘要
This chapter closes the methodological debates of the research that gave rise to the book. It narrates the dialogic process carried out with 50 female social science academics interviewed in 12 Chilean universities in 2023. The mix between rationalized procedure and professional/affective ties that guided the selection of the interviewees is made explicit. The text describes the ups and downs encountered during the dialogic process with colleagues, not only when recording their story but also before and after what is formally designated “the interview.” The chapter also explains how the transcribed testimonies were treated and analyzed, discussing the research team’s commitment to viewing this material as produced in co-authorship with the interviewees. The conclusion offers a summary of the sample profile of the study that is essential to interpret the chapters in the third and fourth parts of the book.
