Eosinophilic Meningitis
摘要
Eosinophilic meningitis is a rare form of meningitis characterized by an abundance of eosinophils present in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). It can be caused by a variety of factors, including infections, medications, and malignancies. This chapter primarily focuses on infectious etiologies of eosinophilic meningitis, with parasitic infections being the most common group of pathogens to cause the problem. We explore the clinical presentation, key exposures, diagnostic techniques, and treatment strategies for the most common parasitic causes of eosinophilic meningitis. A brief discussion about non-infectious causes of eosinophilic meningitis is included to emphasize the importance of a comprehensive diagnostic approach to distinguish between infectious and non-infectious etiologies.
