Pneumonia Caused by Endemic Fungi: Dry Cough and Fever After Visiting or Living in an Endemic Area
摘要
A long list of infectious agents are known to cause community-acquired pneumonia; fungi are no exception. While cases of pneumonia caused by endemic fungi are far less common than those caused by respiratory viruses and bacterial pathogens, their prevalence across certain geographic areas, and other unique challenges they present make them worthy of separate and detailed discussion. This chapter focuses on the epidemiology, typical clinical presentation, and approaches to treating pneumonia caused by endemic fungal pathogens.
