These originally Italian-Spanish poems were born from the author’s encounter with the work of José Scacco, a painter from Mendoza who spent his entire life journeying through the Andes and was inspired both by the breathtaking landscape and by the different cultural groups that dwell there. These poems also retrace the author’s journey in 2016 as she set off in search of her grandfather’s family, an Italian-Argentinian migrant who also turned out to be José Scacco’s uncle. Finally, it is also a linguistic journey, a crossing between languages and words, those we know and those that have remained unheard, and which only poetry can attempt to convey.
