With the pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the educational process has undergone a transformation, which has led to the need to search for new forms and methods of knowledge transfer. One of the key issues in this situation is the integration of humanitarian, economic, and digital knowledge into the technology of distance learning for international students. This article aims to study the prospects for the development of digital educational technologies and the main obstacles that cause difficulties in obtaining distance education by international students have been identified. The analysis of the educational process of students from the People's Republic of China at Russian University revealed several challenges in the transition to the use of digital technologies as a result of the social isolation that has arisen. The situation was aggravated by socio-cultural differences, language barriers, restrictions (both objective and legislative) in the choice of educational platforms and technologies, different levels of digital competence, as well as the difference in time zones. Generally, these factors reduced acceptable options for the rational organization of the educational process. This article shows that the construction of a strategy for the diversion of educational programs should be based on the personality-oriented teaching of students, providing an individual approach.
