The Role of Physical Therapy in Revision Total Hip Arthroplasty
摘要
There is no universal protocol for physical therapy for patients undergoing revision total hip arthroplasty. Due to the significant variation in surgeries that constitute revision total hip arthroplasty, there is no one accepted preoperative or postoperative protocol. The authors recommend individualized plans based on the expected surgical plan and modifications as needed postoperatively. Frequent and clear communication with the patient regarding expectations and goals along with early and consistent involvement of physical therapists may improve adherence and maximize the result from revision total hip arthroplasty.
