Revision Total Hip Arthroplasty in the Setting of Trunnionosis
摘要
In revision total hip arthroplasty, corrosion is defined as degradation of metallic implant materials. When corrosion occurs at the level of a modular head-neck interface, it is termed trunnionosis. In this chapter, an overview of corrosion science and risk factors for trunnionosis will be presented and a review on diagnosis and treatment for the practicing arthroplasty surgeon will be shared.
