Implant Inventory
摘要
A critical portion of operative success is preoperative planning. Ensuring appropriate implant availability is a key step in this planning. Attention should be paid toward the acetabular and femoral components, and bearing surface options, as well as, availability of explant and fracture fixation devices. Acetabular options can be grouped based off of the size and containment of the defect. Multiple options for acetabular reconstruction including multihole cups, augments, and cages are available. Femoral reconstruction options are similarly based off of the bony deficiency. Options span from primary stems that engage proximally to more distally engaging stems and even megaprosthesis. In addition, there are multiple bearing choices such as dual mobility and constrained options that providers may need to be prepared with. Finally, fixation options in the setting of fracture or planned osteotomy should be available. Diligent planning and communication is necessary to be adequately prepared for successful revision surgery.
